The city of Penticton is located in central British Columbia Canada in a region called the Okanagan Valley. It is only about 2 hours North of the Washington State boarder and 4 hours east of Vancouver BC. The Okanagan is known for its supreme beauty that boasts huge fresh water lakes surrounded by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Scattered throughout the valley are thousands of orchards that grow a variety of fruits and berries with the most notable being its vineyards. Penticton is home to a vast variety of recreational opportunities such as skiing at the Apex Moutain Resort ski area, boating and fishing on Skaha lake and Okanagan lake. There is golfing on the area's many courses, as well as hiking or biking the Kettle Valley Railroad Trail, and rock climbing at the Skaha Bluffs. There is plenty of opportunity for hiking and camping but many Pentictonites spend a lot of time in the summer at the beach where the community gathers to soak up the vitamin D. Those who come rarely can find an equal in their stories of places they have visited for serenity, adventure, and beauty.
Penticton's population is 10% higher than the median age in Canada with 54% being married without children living at home. Amazingly there is an epidemic of young Millennial families moving into town which although all are welcome, this is our demographic of focus.
